In the name of 'Fun' vs In the name of Jesus

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

It seemed to me that people can do anything in the name of fun these days. It is almost criminal to take life or GOD seriously! "Chill~Relax man". "Don't be so serious lah...just joking." Maybe this is a backlash that resulted from parenting that demands children to be 'successful' in life. Parenting that sucked out life (& fun) from even little kids. Ballet, Piano, Tuition, Swimming and kids became their parents' little race horses. Making them into competitive, serious little kids. Back lash? Maybe.

Back to Fun. Today, having fun is linked with sex, violence, deafening music, luxury goods, smoking, drinking, gambling, zoukout, bikinis, (God-dishonoring) quizzes in FB (think - quizzes that deals with future and astrology), etc. I am glad that some of our pastors are on FB. Some may take it as an endorsement do anything on FB since even the spiritual elders are here. I am certain that they are using FB for the glory of GOD. Can most of the Christian FB users say that? I hope so!

Man sees that outside but God sees the heart.

This morning I read of an article from Straits Times about more youth marrying and divorcing in the name of game. Can Colossians 3:17 be applied for a Christian who play this game? Isn't Pleasure a NEW GOD? And its worshippers pray in its name? We are doing all this in the name of fun. "Man shall be lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of GOD."

I thank GOD for VIBE and the life that GOD gave us in our youth worship. I thank GOD for the freedom and I praise Him! May our youths always be spiritual, fun-loving, energetic and vibrant! Love God! Love Life! I sincerely pray that we will be true worshippers of GOD and I pray this...in Jesus Name
