Friendship

I was chatting with a young man about his desire to pursue a particular course of study. I asked him why.

I thought he might say, “Oh, the course is interesting!” or “This is what I’m good at”. But he said, “because I’m comfortable with the people in this course.”

He decided to study in this course because his friends are there. Relationships matter a lot to him.

Relationships matter a lot to us too. We are social creatures. And we need friends. We need our family. We need one another.

So often, we think of Christianity only as a weekly Sunday attendance at our worship services. We think that it is all about hearing a sermon and taking down notes.

But Christianity is about one another too. Its about our friends, our brothers and sisters in Christ. The more I serve as a Pastor, the more I realise its all about RELATIONSHIPS.

Do you intentionally pray and pursue relationships in the family of God? Believe me, you need them. We all do. We need the fellowship, support, care, encouragement and love from one another. And God has provided them in the church.

Let us seek to deepen our relationships in GLCC. Let us pray for friendships rooted in our Saviour.

“Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another...” Hebrews 10:24,25
