"He may speak to us through nature.. I drove past a field full of weeds, and in the middle of those weeds there were two or three patches of pretty flowers. I received an entire message from God about how flowers can grow in the middle of weeds, and how good things are in our lives even in the midst of struggles and trials." -Joyce Meyer, How to Hear from God-

Things always happen in our lives that we cannot understand. Sometimes we whinge, complain
and whine, just like a little kid really ("mommy, why can't i put my fingers on the stove mommy, why why why why?") Of course, this question seems ridiculous to us all now because obviously you'd burn yourself if you put your fingers on a stove, duh! But in the mind of a 3 year old, it is a very pressing and pertinent question indeed. A 3 year old cannot understand WHY he can't touch the stove, but his mom makes sure he stays far far away from the stove anyway.
It is the same with us and God. He puts people, places, and situations in our lives and many times we ask Him, "God why me? why now? just, WHY!?" to which God just responds, "look for the wildflowers among the weeds." Sometimes circumstances in our lives are just like weeds. They grow thick and fast, overcrowding and choking anything else that stands in its way. We tend to look out on our "fields" of life and see nothing but the weeds and feel miserable. But in our self-pity, we forget to look for the rare spots of beauty, the wildflowers that grow in patches among the weeds which resist being choked. When God doesn't allow us to put our fingers on the stove and we can't understand why, remember the wildflowers and the weeds, and know that in the midst of our inability to understand, we need to look harder among what we see as weeds to spot the wildflowers. And rest assured that He makes All Things Beautiful in His time. :)
