There were some dangers that the teenagers were flirting with and that may be major factors that led them to do the unthinkable!
I learned some lessons from this account.
Lesson 1. Youth are open to spiritual things but many seek at the wrong places.
Lesson 2. Youth need the truth. They need the real Savior Jesus Christ!
Lesson 3. Youth want to be significant and they can find it in Jesus Christ our LORD.

Youths do have a void to be filled in their hearts, they tend to go over the place to look for them because no one is sharing with them the truth.
Lets look at Witaya's case, he is a very sad boy who is often troubled by parents' separation, studies etc.
Being a foreigner in Singapore, he might not have many friends or he might be a victim of bullying when he was young. He wanted love, attention and the ability to prove to the world that he is something.
He wanted affirmation and acknowledgement, of his capabilities in terms of leadership but he could not find it anywhere.
The matter of fact is that, there are many youths today, all over the world, who are craving for peer acceptance, parent's attention and also love. But sometimes, people are not satisfied with whatever they have and they need their cup to be filled by something, which can be found in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lesson 4: Are we reaching out to the people? Especially the youths? Because what some of them have done, or are doing, is not because they do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Savior, but no one has shared with them about the Living Word.
