No reserves, no retreats, no regrets.

Revelation 3:15-16 (New Living Translation)

I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

When I first came across this verse, I didn't want to blog about it because I thought it was rather harsh. Quite honestly, the first thought that went through my mind was "eh super fierce la God you sure anot?" (haha yes, singlish and all).

In light of this verse though, I think all of us (myself included) need to sit back and do a little self-evaluation. It's quite one thing to be periodically sold out for God, but a completely different thing to be permanently sold out for God, yeah? It is FAR easier to sort of take a timeout, sit on the fence and rest a little, while life passes us by.

Well... I have news for you. STOP IT! GOD HATES IT! haha. No, seriously. I'll be the first to admit that I am guilty as charged where this verse is concerned. I am prone to "time-outs"and lapse frequently into bouts of failing to be faithful in everything He requires of me. It is easy!

But it's time to wake up, time to snap out of it. There is no other way to put it, really. I don't even have a nice fancy illustrative-ish type of story to demonstrate the point because I can't think of one. God is calling us to live our lives all out (no reserves), without turning back to our old habits (no retreats) and to keep our eyes fully fixed on Him (no regrets). He wants us to be "all or nothing" people, and He is definitely not interested in "maybe, see first" attitudes.

Just want to challenge you all, guys, no judgementalism or anything going on here :) This is something I personally face all the time, so I figured it can't just be me.

xx
