Street E(xperience)

As promised, Janice and I headed out for Street-E on Wednesday. Technically, it wasn't my first time out on the streets. But it was kind of a different experience for me. Previous times I went, I was there by circumstances, like, the "Blueprint Course requirements" said so. This time, it was for a different purpose.

Firstly, thank God for amazing groups of people that He led us to. I won't elaborate on that, although this aspect blessed my heart greatly as well. I guess the main thing that the Lord showed me that night was that the harvest truly is plentiful. A familiar verse indeed. As we walked around, I looked at the crowd of people hustling about, talking on the phones, waiting for their friends, seated alone, in twos, threes and so on. Some of whom could be hurting deeply inside, wishing for just someone who cares, longing for a person to unload everything on, wondering about their purpose in life. It struck me that we wouldn't be able to share the Good News to each and every one of them at that one point of time. Question is, does it bother us? Or do we go by nonchalantly, continuing on with our daily activities?

Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw the multitudes. (Matthew 9: 36)

Are we, as well?

I admit, that more often than not, I'm content in my "Ruth world". It is thus my prayer for myself as well as for all of us, that we might have a glimpse of God's heartbeat. That we might look past the people, be it around us or on the streets, and see the souls that God so loves.

Praise God for your willing heart to be His labourers in the harvest field. Indeed it takes loads of courage and of course a burden for souls. May the Lord use you in a mighty way to reap, sow and water for His glory!
