"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His glory and goodness." 2 Pet 1:3
This verse spoke to me today. It is still in God, we are able to find all that we are and we need in life. But how do we go about doing so:
a) Divine power
It is to first recognise that we are fallible and He is not. Our might will fail us but not His power as His power is divine. Divine simply means that it is supreme, of the super-natural. It is to start off in dependence on Him daily that Phi 4:13 will become true in our life.
b) Knowledge of Him
However, it is not done on a groundless basis. Neither is it in blind faith where we take the name of the Lord in vain e.g. using His Name without basing it upon the Word of the truth. It is being diligent in knowing Him that will enable us to draw nearer to Him, that we may understand His will (not ours) and His purpose for our life that we may complete it. John 4:34.
c) His glory
It is to dethrone "I" and throne Him as King in our hearts. Often times, we are living for our own glory and pleasure as if we would be in this world forever. It is to understand that our life is to reflect His glory that others (believers and non-believers) will have a desire to come to Him.
May we live each day in Dependence on Him, being Diligent to know Him more and more in our lives that we Dethrone self and make Him the Lord of our lives!
May our prayer resemble what Paul said in Gal 2:20 and may we truly be the sweet fragrance of Christ in 2 Cor 2:15 that will continue to linger on in the life of others that they too will desire to follow Jesus!
in-Him,
