Potter's Hand

This song struck my heart as we were singing it during last Sunday's worship service. Part of the chorus goes, "Take me, mold me, use me, fill me, I give my life to the Potter's hand," and I was just hit by the gravity of the words that I was telling God.

Take me -- Lord, here am I. I'm ready and willing to do Your will.
Mold me -- Lord, I am but miry, fragile, and dirty clay. As You see fit, break me, shape me, re-mold me from the start, etc. Do whatever it takes to make me the vessel You want me to be!
Use me -- Lord, whatever You have for me to do and wherever You want me to go, I'll trust and follow!
Fill me -- Lord, empty this vessel of self that I may be wholly filled with You alone.
I give my life to the Potter's hand -- Lord, I will trust and rest in Your care and wisdom through every circumstance. And I am so privileged to call you my Abba, Father!

As we're described as pottery in this worship song, what type of pottery are we? Are we pottery that's dull or no different from the vessels made by world/Satan? What do people see in our lives? Are they attracted by our lives? Do they see the hope of Christ in us? I know mine hasn't always been shining Christ before others, but this is my prayer and consecration to God to "Take me, mold me, use me, fill me; I give my life to the Potter's hand."

P.S. Feel free leave comments on how this song has blessed you or what your prayer was to God as you sang this song of worship to Him. We (the blog team) would love to hear from you! :)
