Have you read any part of the Old Testament (OT) before? If you're following the Bible plan on the blog, you've figured that the plan has OT readings each day. I remember reading books such as Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, 1 & 2 Samuel, etc. for the first time and thinking to myself, "Why is God so picky? Is He really that picky?", "Hm... this is really boring stuff. He seems to be repeating Himself about those sacrifices and just changing the animals after each section or chapter. Is this just for history records or are we supposed to do something with this info?" Well now that I understand and know God more through His Word, all that is written is definitely for reasons more than just history records! 2 Tim 2:16-17

Thank You for Your Love
But is God picky? I wouldn't say He's picky, but that He is holy. Holy = set apart from sin. However, God's holiness doesn't = less loving. In fact, it displays His immense love for us!
Though men are sinners and have sinned against Him, He still provided the way of the sin/guilt/peace etc offering for the people in the OT times that they may not suffer eternal death. And I thought in all these God was boring! (Well, it can get dreary at times to read, but that doesn't mean He's boring, yea?) ;) Because He is perfect, He can only accept perfect. Despite man's imperfect state, He still reached out and fellowship-ed with man!
Have you read the part in Numbers 12, where God said to Miriam and Aaron that He spoke with Moses "mouth to mouth" (as in face to face)? With all the technology in the world, there's still nothing as personal as talking to someone face to face. And besides Christ, Moses is the only person who has ever talked to God face-to-face! Though I know Moses is the meekest man ever on earth, but that doesn't mean He was perfect so how could God still talk to Moses so intimately? The reason I could think of is that God loved Moses. Amidst all the writings of His holiness, God made a point to display His love and longing towards us. He chose to write that in, and He chose His Son to pay our penalty. Through Jesus we are called His children, which is the most intimate type of relationship.
He loves you and me. I can't understand, and I can't express enough:
... thank you Abba Father.
