The Grass is Greener...

Heart2

You have a ticket to heaven no thief can take,
an eternal home no divorce can break.

Every sin of your life has been cast to the sea,
every mistake you've made is nailed to the tree.

You're blood-bought and heaven-made,
a child of God - forever saved.

So be grateful, joyful - for isn't it true?
What you don't have is much less than what you do.

- A Love Worth Giving, Max Lucado

Don't we sometimes love complaining about our situations, and then compare them with others'? "Why is my life so much more difficult than everyone else's?" "Why don't I have what everyone else has?" "Why does everyone else seem to have such a normal life and mine just... Sucks?" (I'm speaking for myself as well.) You know the famous retort that parents give when children ask, "Why do everyone else's parents allow them to ________ but you don't?"? Yes, they reply, "Because I am NOT everyone else's parents."

Likewise, each of us is not made to be like "everyone else". God has made every one of us unique in our personalities, talents, yes, even our experiences. God has His reasons for having each of us go through different things in life, and He has His perfect plan for each of our lives. This is what we have. Are we going to trade it for anything else that we don't have?

Caught in a difficult, unpleasant situation today? Let's remember Romans 8:38-39. "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nothing can separate us from God's love.

So, linking back to the title with the picture above... Can we say with gratitude and joy today, that the grass is greener on OUR side, because of His love?
