Founder of Durihana (Two become One) Mission, Pastor Chun Ki-Kwon, a South Korean, has masterminded the escape of hundreds of North Koreans trapped in China, providing them sancutary in South Korea, the US, and other countries. He belongs to a diverse group of activitists, humanitarians, traffickers and fellow missionaries who operate the Asian underground railroad. Some hope to precipitate the collapse of North Korea; others want to convert North Koreans to Christianity.
Chun's calling came at age 40, when the former hotel manager joined a seminary. His activism was kindled when as a missionary in the Yanji region, he met his first North Koreans in hiding. Pastor Chun is no stranger to risks. In 2002, Chinese police arrested him near the Mongolian border, on the escape route he pioneered. He spent 8 months in a Chinese prison, after which he was sent home and banned from returning to China.

It is just so amazing to see Christians risking their lives for the Gospel's sake. Jesus Christ said "if the world hates you, it's because they hated me first". Christians all around the world are being persecuted for righteousness' sake, just to bring the truth to the dying world today.
And what are doing to share the truth to others around us? We are so comfortable, too comfortable in fact with who we are, as mere Christians fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Yet, we fail to realise, that this is not what God has called us to do. I'm not saying that fellowship is wrong. It is edifying. But, God has commanded us to obey the Great Commission. And He has promised He will be with us till the end of the age.
We need to draw inspiration from such role models that God has moulded. All it takes is a tiny step of faith. It can start from sharing the Gospel with your family, friends, relatives, people whom you are closer to. Yes, we may be fearful of the consequences of persecution from doing so. But, God has promised He will be with us always.
Are we taking steps to reach out? May we always be praying for God to lay souls upon our hearts. It is not necessary to engage in a large-scale outreach like the one above. Remember, all it takes is your heart, and God is in yours.
in His love,
Pat
