Even the rocks will cry out.

I spent my weekend in suburban Melbourne at a friend's house. Early Sat morning, (it was beyond early, it was more like pre-early 6am) I was rudely awakened by a bunch of birds tweeting (haha yes pun intended on our friendly neighbourhood social networking site Twitter that seems to be all the rage now, when will these fads ever end?) their little heads off without stopping for close to an hour.

Please take a moment to place yourself in my situation and imagine my annoyance. 6am saturday morning, nice warm bed, you're sleeping... TWEET TWEET TWEET!! Got the picture? Good now I can get to the real point of this. Of course, I reacted in the most human way ever. I mentally wished those birds away (of course they didn't disappear), I called them the most awful names I could think of in my mind, etc etc but then God took over.

Wide awake, I glanced out the window and saw blue, blue sky with wisps of clouds scattered across. It was as if a painter had just run his brush randomly across a clear blue canvas. The air was fresh and clean. And the birds were merrily chirping their hearts out. The thought came quickly and suddenly. "When birds sing, what praises to God are in their song?"

Have you ever taken a moment to listen to the sincere tweets of a little bird? It hops on a branch and greets the break of dawn with such gusto, such vibrance and life! It's as if the bird was saying, "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice in it!" How many times do we roll out of bed in the morning thinking "this is going to be the worst day everrrr..."? Think of the little birdie on the tree branch. It is just an example of how all creation shouts praise to God. This week, let's all take a closer look at nature and what our loving God has given us through all our beautiful surroundings.

What makes the skies so blue, the trees so tall, the grass so green? It is the love of God. Praise Him for all that He has given to us! And remember that God doesn't need our praise, but it's our privilege to offer it to Him :)

-Give thanks to God for He is good! His mercy endures forever.-
